Job Summary:
The Red Hat Support Delivery team is looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Support Engineer with excellent technical and customer service skills to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you'll become an expert on Red Hat technologies, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and our storage and cloud solutions, and you will provide technical support for our enterprise customers both online and over the phone. As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for performing basic investigation and troubleshooting to resolve difficult customer issues quickly and effectively. The customers you'll interact with are often other engineers, so we'll need you to develop your technical skills by becoming a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and getting up to speed with our storage system.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to Red Hat enterprise customers
* Diagnose problems, troubleshoot customer issues, and develop solutions to technical issues
* Exceed customer expectations by providing outstanding customer service
* Consult and develop relationships with in-house engineers and developers to promote creative solutions and improve customer satisfaction
* Contribute to the global Red Hat knowledge management system while working on customer issues
Required Skills:
* 1 to 7 years of Linux experience in the enterprise sector, with excellent administration skills
* Thorough knowledge of the Linux kernel, networking, and memory management
* Excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for problem solving and investigation
* Ability to work with conflicting priorities, take initiative, and maintain a customer-centric focus

About Internship
Candidates getting into Red Hat’s internship program would get to learn many of the niche technology and product skills at Red Hat from Red Hatters. They would also develop their customer handling and soft skills. They would also be exposed to the production environment where they would actually work with Red Hat customers to solve customer issues. It’s more of a on job training for the candidates. To get into the internship program one has to really excited, energetic and passionate about the Red Hat’s technologies. Obviously one has to learn those technologies as well before they can apply. Having RHCSA or RHCE or RHCA makes you really different from others. Having a good command over the communication and more importantly customer handling or soft skills will put you on an advantage.
This vacancy is only for ipsr students. There will be a screening test for Red Hat support delivery Inters on 5th December 2015 at ipsr Trivandrum, Kottayam, Kochi, Thrissur and Calicut. Only shortlisted candidates from screening test will be eligible to attend final interview on 19th at Kochi.
